About procrastinationGaming
A one-person indie studio making the games I always wanted to play. Based on passion, caffeine, and an unhealthy love of low-poly art.
The Studio
procrastinationGaming is the solo indie project of Mike Lancaster — a developer with a love for classic games, big worlds, and the kind of ambition that keeps shipping dates comfortably far in the future.
The studio name is equal parts self-aware joke and honest confession. Game development is hard, solo development is harder, and building the games you actually want to make means accepting that perfection takes time. Possibly a lot of time.
Every project here starts from a simple question: what kind of game do I wish existed? Frozen Realm came from a love of classic British strategy games and a desire to rebuild that feel with modern tools. MagikBound came from wanting a magic system that actually rewards creativity rather than pattern memorisation.
The Philosophy
Games should have soul. Whether it's a sweeping fantasy epic or a tight spell-crafting action game, the goal is always the same: create something that pulls you in and doesn't let go. No filler. No grind for its own sake. Just worlds worth exploring.
The Process
Everything is built in Unity, designed iteratively, and stress-tested by playing it obsessively until the fun feels right. Art direction leans toward low-poly and stylised aesthetics — clean, readable, and timeless over photorealism.
Inspirations
The classics that shaped how games could feel: the great strategy and adventure games of the 1980s, the era of British game development that punched well above its weight, and every indie game that proved a small team can make something huge.
